Meet your high country farm stay hosts
For George and Sarah Murray, life at Aschworth High Country Station revolves around running a busy working merino sheep and beef farm. While no two days are ever the same, they never lose sight of what makes this place so special – the vast landscapes, fresh air and the privilege of calling this remarkable corner of Marlborough home.
Shortly after the couple moved to Aschworth with their two sons, Hank and Walter, in December 2020, an idea was born to share that backyard with others, and the couple set about creating the ultimate luxury farm stay here in the high country of the South Island.
It was a venture that would draw on George's background as a helicopter pilot and farmer, and Sarah's career in tourism and marketing, aligning seamlessly with their mutual love of the outdoors and their passion for showcasing authentic high country farming.
The high country farm nestled above the wine capital of New Zealand offers guests the chance to experience a private working station, explore landscapes few people ever get to access, and unwind in luxury with chef-prepared meals and premium accommodation.
Aschworth High Country Station remains an operational merino sheep and beef farm and is closed to the public, but is yours to explore for the duration of your stay.
