Aschworth High Country Station is a 6,000-acre merino farm in Marlborough’s high country, offering a three-day luxury walking experience through some of the region’s most spectacular landscapes.

Day 1 - Takes you into the high country, with elevated views across Marlborough, the Richmond Ranges and towards the neighbouring Waihopai Valley.

Day 2 - Offers a choice of three walks, from a leisurely outing to a challenging high-country adventure, with options taking you towards Wards Peak and the natural swimming holes.

Day 3 - Is a gentler walk back to the homestead through the heart of the farm, with beautiful views across the Brancott Valley.

Each day offers flexibility to suit your walking ability and needs. Simply let us know your preferences when booking, and we’ll take care of the heavy lifting, transporting your overnight bags to and from your luxury accommodation.

Relax in our luxurious hunting tents, nestled among the rolling hills of our high country merino farm. Inspired by 1920s deer stalkers’ tents, each has been thoughtfully adapted with modern comforts.

From wool insulation and wool-topped beds to woollen blankets, beautiful linens and wool-insulated wooden floors, every detail embraces natural fibres to keep you comfortable and warm while offering a truly luxurious camping experience.

Gather with friends and fellow walkers in our beautifully appointed communal space. The hunting lodge features thoughtfully designed bathroom facilities with local toiletries, a relaxing lounge, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a gas fireplace and a hot tub.
